| What is a fire risk assessment ? |
- A FRA will be a detailed document, not a checksheet
- It will consist of 10+ pages of detailed information
- It should cover all elements of fire risks, equipment, arson etc.
- Live document reviewed at least yearly or when any changes are made
- Identify remedial actions
- Set targets based on residual risk
- Identifies safety checks to be carried out
A fire risk assessment should identify and evaluate;
- Fuel sources
- Ignition sources
- Means of escape
- Fire fighting equipment
- Arson prevention
- Fire warning systems
- Emergency signage and lighting
- and more...….
You should also think about creating a logbook which records all equipment and its servicing.
